On Monday, August 25, Brooklyn Law School will hold its inaugural Service Day. More than 150 BLS student, faculty, and staff volunteers have signed up to work with the Prospect Park clean-up, the Bed-Stuy food pantry, the Gowanus Canal Conservancy, and the NYC Parks Department, among other efforts in and around Brooklyn.
“We are excited to launch our annual orientation Service Day,” said Danielle Sorken, Director of the BLS Public Service Office. “Brooklyn Law School has always been committed to community service with more than two dozen pro bono projects currently working in the community and student organizations conducting fundraisers, mentoring programs, and blood drives, among other projects. This Service Day is a natural extension of our students’ drive to serve the greater community.”
