Two hundred ninety-four Brooklyn Law School graduates were recognized in the annual New York Edition of Super Lawyers magazine. Brooklyn Law School ranked 5th in the nation for producing attorneys on this year’s list of outstanding lawyers in the New York metro area. The Law School ranked 47th overall for producing lawyers on all Super Lawyers editions nationwide.  read more

Himan Brown, the classic radio drama creator and producer, died on Friday, June 4, in Manhattan at the age of 99. His work spanned the 20th century and included the immensely popular serials: “The Adventures of the Thin Man”; “Dick Tracy”; and the “CBS Radio Mystery Theater.”  read more

Dennis J. Block ’67 has been named Dealmaker of the Year by American Lawyer for the third time in his impressive career. Block, a senior partner at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft and a household name in the world of mergers and acquisitions, offers his expertise as an Adjunct Professor at the Law School, where he teaches advanced corporate law and the Dennis J. Block Center for the Study of International Business Law bears his name in recognition of his distinguished work as an international business lawyer.  read more

The Brooklyn Law School Board of Trustees welcomed two outstanding recent graduates to the Board this winter. Kathleen M. Chastaine ’06, an associate in the Private Equity Group at Winston & Strawn LLP, and Scott B. Selinger ’06, an associate in the Acquisition and Leveraged Finance Group at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, were appointed in December 2009 for a two-year term.  read more

In the wake of the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti on January 8, incredible stories of the tragedy’s bravest heroes—donors, rescuers, doctors, and Samaritans—have flooded the media. But closer to home, just a few blocks from the Law School on Pierrepont Street, a solo practitioner with muscular dystrophy is fighting a battle for victims of the earthquake largely forgotten: those with disabilities.  read more

Percy Sutton, the pioneering civil rights attorney, political leader and media icon, died on December 26, 2009 at the age of 89. A member of the Class of 1950, he was one of Brooklyn Law School’s most distinguished graduates and one of the nation’s most influential African-American leaders.  read more
