Admitted Students Only
To help admitted students learn more about the remarkable advantages of attending Brooklyn Law School, the Office of Admissions hosts several day-long Insider’s Guide Programs each spring. (A second Insider’s Guide will take place on June 10.)
Guests will begin their day with an orientation meeting with an admissions officer. This will be followed by a series of presentations that will provide an introduction to the academic program at Brooklyn Law School, including a profile of our esteemed faculty, a discussion of the first-year program of study, and an overview of the upper-class curriculum. Guests will then have an opportunity to learn about the School's renowned clinical education program, other professional skills courses, and co-curricular opportunities—including fellowship programs, centers, scholarly journals, and the Law School’s highly successful Moot Court program—and take a tour of the library. The morning will conclude with an introduction to the Law School's Career Center and Public Service Office, including a discussion of the services available to students and job placement data on recent graduating classes.
At midday, guests will enjoy a light buffet luncheon at which they will be able to chat with members of Brooklyn Law School faculty and administration, as well as with current students. The luncheon will provide an opportunity for accepted students to speak at greater length with members of the Law School community in a relaxed environment.
The afternoon presentations begin with an alumni panel, at which admitted students can learn first-hand about life as a law student from recent graduates. Guests will also experience a “day in the life” classroom discussion, in which a faculty member presents a legal issue that students might encounter during their first year of study. Next, guests will attend a lively student roundtable discussion to explore student life at Brooklyn Law School.
The day will conclude with a tour of the school’s newest student residence, Feil Hall, and—weather permitting—a tour of the civic center and the picturesque Brooklyn Heights Historic District.
