Forchelli and Rivera Honored at Alumni Reception
Festive Event "Wows" Newcomers to Feil Hall
Thursday, November 17, 2005
Dean Joan G. Wexler and the Brooklyn Law School Alumni Association hosted a festive cocktail reception for 250 alumni, their families and friends in the Forchelli Conference Center at Feil Hall on Thursday, November 17, 2005.
Alumni Association President Linda Lamel '76 introduced the evening’s honorees, two distinguished graduates who contributed generously to the residence hall. They were Jeffrey D. Forchelli '69, of Forchelli, Curto, Schwartz, Mineo, Carlino & Cohen, LLP, for whom the conference center was named; and Geraldo Rivera '69, of the Fox News Channel, for whom Geraldo's, the café on the ground floor, was named.

It was the first visit to Feil Hall for many at the reception, and they expressed delight with the elegant setting and dramatic views of the city skyline at night. In her remarks, Dean Wexler said, "I know what you're thinking: 'Wow. What a view! Things have really changed!' Well, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Our best traditions remain. We continue to be, first and foremost, a faculty with a shared commitment to doing the best for our students. We continue to be a family of students, faculty, and graduates engaged in an ongoing process of studying, shaping, and practicing law. We just have a new place to live."
