Current Status of the Network
You can check the current status of the network at any time by checking the network status page. Please report any problems to support@brooklaw.edu
Access at School
Designated outlets in the Library and in the classrooms allow direct network and Internet access for your laptop computer via a 10baseT Ethernet card. Wireless access now allows students to access the network using their laptops from any public place in the school. Check the Infomration Technology announcements for important updates or our Frequently Asked Questions for answers to common questions. To report a network problem or any other technical issue, please use our online form.
Home Access
Brooklyn Law School provides free access to the Internet and email at home as well as school. An email account is established for the use of each student and faculty member. Brooklyn Law School provides all users with a copy of the Internet browser, Netscape Communicator. You may download instructions to set up your computer for dialup access for either WindowsXP or prior versions of Windows to XP. Your email username and password are required.
Students and faculty may retain existing email accounts and request BLS Network Services to forward mail from their school account to another account. Even if you use another email account, you must still remember your BLS user name and password for access to Web-based services, such as timely announcements, career postings, and end of semester grades. Account information and software is distributed at the beginning of the school year.
Legal Research Access
New students are issued Lexis-Nexis and WestLaw educational accounts for online research during the middle of the first semester by their writing instructor. Access is through an Internet web browser. Training on these systems is arranged at that time.
