Brooklyn Law School maintains five computer labs in the Library. Desktop computers for word processing and Internet access are available in the third floor, second mezzanine and lower level labs. The computers in these labs also give students access to Lexis® and Westlaw®, presentation and spreadsheet software, CALI (Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction) and old exams.

Computer assistants are almost always available in the labs to answer your questions and help with problems. Manuals and guides for word processing are available in the library reserve collection. Exact titles may be identified by searching Brooklaw.

Students with their own laptop computers may access the school’s network by plugging into the various ports throughout the library.

A limited number of laptop computers are available for loan from the library circulation desk. Only Brooklyn Law School students with valid ID cards may borrow laptops. Laptops may be borrowed for four hours and cannot be renewed. Laptop computers must be used in the library.

The fine for overdue laptops is $10.00 per hour or any fraction of an hour.

If a laptop computer is not returned, the replacement fee is $1600.00. Once a laptop is six hours overdue, it is considered lost and you will be charged the replacement cost.

The replacement cost for an AC adapter or an Ethernet card is $50.00 each.
