Through the generosity of donors to the Law School, Brooklyn Law School is able to provide short-term loan assistance to students faced with unexpected financial difficulties.
Short-Term Emergency Loan Programs
In the event that a financial emergency should occur, Brooklyn Law School administers several short-term loan programs made available through generous alumni donors. These funds have been established to help students meet emergency expenses incurred during the academic year; they are not meant to be used routinely for the payment of tuition charges or other ordinary expenses. Students in need of such funds should contact the Financial Aid Office for further assistance. The short-term loan programs are as follows:
William Brody Memorial Student Loan Fund
This loan fund has been established by a devoted alumnus, Neil Brody, Class of 1974, in memory of his father, and will be used to provide students with short-term loans.
Nathan Dinkes Emergency Student Loan Fund
Short-term emergency loans to deserving students are available from a fund contributed by Dinkes and Morelli, Esqs., given in memory of Nathan Dinkes, Class of 1931, their founding partner, and in honor of Rose L. Hoffer, Class of 1954, and Philip Hoffer, Class of 1933.
Rose L. Hoffer and Philip Hoffer Short-Term Student Loan Fund
Rose L. Hoffer and Philip Hoffer have established another loan fund to assist students in need. These loans are short-term and interest-free. In lieu of interest, each loan beneficiary is
requested to consider making a contribution to the loan fund when they are financially able.
Alexander and Emily Mehr Memorial Loan Fund
A loan fund established in memory of Alexander and Emily Mehr to provide low interest loans to students.
Samuel J. Raiff Loan Fund
A loan fund established by Samuel, J. Raiff, an alumnus of the Class of 1937, to assist deserving students.
