U.S. District Court Judge Frederic Block will read from his book, Disrobed: An Inside Look at the Life and Work of a Federal Trial Judge (Thomson Reuters 2012). The book offers a unique perspective on some of the most newsworthy and sensational cases over the last 20 years, and gives a personal account of his experiences with such topics as the death penalty, racketeering, terrorism, discrimination, and foreign affairs.
There is no charge for this event. Copies of Disrobed will be available for purchase.
Judge Block was appointed a United States District Judge for the Eastern District of New York in 1994, and in 2005, he assumed senior status. Prior to his appointment, he was a partner in the law firm of Block, Amelkin & Hamburger, in Smithtown, New York, and maintained his own general practice on Long Island.
