2014 Bologna, Italy Summer Law Program

We are no longer accepting applications.

The Summer Program at the University of Bologna is jointly sponsored by Brooklyn Law School and Loyola Law School of Los Angeles. The Program offers students an opportunity to study a variety of international and comparative topics with distinguished faculty from both American and European law schools. A special attraction of the program is its affiliation with the University of Bologna's Faculty of Law.

The program is scheduled when the University is in session and as a result American students who participate in the program will have an opportunity to interact with Italian students. The two-week program will run from Sunday, May 25 to Saturday, June 7, 2014, while the three-week program will run from Sunday, May 25 to Saturday, June 14, 2014.

  • Based upon student preferences in prior years, we have designated the Hotel Touring as the main hotel for the program. In addition, we have reserved rooms at Hotel Holiday.

Students who wish to secure accommodation through the program and receive our special rates, which are lower than those at hotels of comparable quality, must fill out the online housing application and submit the $400 hotel deposit. Non-students who accompany students will also have to pay the $400 hotel deposit. This deposit can be made by the student through the online application. The hotel deposit becomes non-refundable after midnight, on March 22, 2014.

Students will pay the remaining hotel bill directly to their hotels in Italy. The $400 hotel deposit will be deducted from the bill. When you choose a time frame, you are responsible for the costs of the room during that period. If you arrive earlier or stay later, your student rate is not guaranteed and must be worked out by you and the hotel.

Priority for apartments is given to students who sign up for the three-week session and by the date the application is received.

CITY TAX: This is a local tourist tax that hotel guests are required to pay. It is for a maximum of 5 nights per month and is between € 1 and € 4 per person, per night, according to the room rate. The tax is paid at departure.
