  • Our Meet Me In Brooklyn program, for small groups of applicants and prospective applicants, is conducted each fall once at the Law School and once as an online webinar. The program at the School begins at 9:00 am and ends at approximately 2:00 pm Guests may, of course, arrive late or leave early as their schedules require.  The webinar version will be shortened and take place at 5:30 pm.

This program is especially appropriate for candidates who have an application pending for admission in our next entering class and are eager to learn more about the Law School.

    The program typically includes:

    • An overview of the students, faculty and academic programs of Brooklyn Law School.
    • A financial aid workshop that covers the costs of a law school education and surveys the financial resources available to meet them.
    • An opportunity to attend an actual law school class in session (schedule permitting).
    • A brief guided tour of the Law School's main campus.

  • An evening admission workshop explores the law school admissions process: getting into law school and choosing the school that is right for you. One workshop will be held at the Law School from 6:00 - 7:30 pm and one will be online as a webinar, beginning at 5:30 pm.

The Admissions Strategies Workshop is appropriate for those who are beginning to work on their admission application or who are considering applying to law school in the future. Because the workshop focuses on the nuts and bolts of preparing an effective admission application, it is not designed for candidates who have already submitted an application for the next entering class.

The program covers: what admission committees evaluate and, more generally, how the admission process works; application strategies; presenting your undergraduate record; the importance of letters of evaluation; how to approach the personal essay; dealing with potential weaknesses; avoiding admission mistakes; and when to apply.

  • Once or twice each week (except holidays), the Admissions Office hosts a 90-minute tour and information session for admission candidates.

The Program offers a walking tour of the School's major academic facilities led by an Admissions Officer or a currently-enrolled student who will provide commentary and answer questions.

An Admissions Officer will not be present at all tours due to the fall recruiting schedule.

  • To experience the look and feel of an actual law school class in progress, you are welcome to sit in on one or more classes at Brooklyn Law School. All classes are held in the Main Building, at 250 Joralemon Street. In planning such an activity, keep in mind that the first day of spring semester classes is January 9, the last day of spring semester classes is April 26, and that the spring reading and examination periods extend through May 14. It is generally not advisable to attend a class during the final week of a semester. On the day of your visit, try to arrive at the classroom a few minutes before the scheduled start time, to introduce yourself to the professor and explain why you are there. Please do not enter a classroom after class has begun or exit a classroom while the class is still in session.

Before going to the classroom, you will need to go to the Admissions Office to pick up a visitor's pass and a schedule of classes that can be visited. View the spring 2013 class schedule. If you would like to schedule a classroom visit in advance, please call the Admissions Office at (718) 780-7906 or e-mail visit2@brooklaw.edu , several days prior to the date you plan to attend. If you will be attending a 9:00 a.m. class, we can usually arrange for a visitor's pass and class schedule to be left for you at the security desk in the Main Building, at 250 Joralemon, where classes are held.
  • If you are unable to participate in any of our formal programs, we encourage you to pay a casual, "walk-in" visit to Brooklyn Law School at a time that is convenient for you. It is not necessary to schedule your visit in advance (except on weekends or holidays). In planning your visit, keep in mind that the last day of spring semester classes is April 26, and that the fall reading and examination periods extend through May 14. Please note that, while you are welcome to sit in on a class, it is generally not advisable to do so during the final week of the semester.

When you arrive on campus, you will first need to go to the Admissions Office to pick up a visitor's pass, materials for a self-guided tour of our facilities, and a schedule of classes that can be visited. If you would like to schedule a "walk-in" visit in advance, please call the Admissions Office at (718) 780-7906 or e-mail visit2@brooklaw.edu .
