Science for Judges was an innovative program that addressed emerging, complex scientific issues that jurists may encounter. It drew hundreds of federal and state judges to the Brooklyn Law School campus each year.
Margaret A. Berger, Trustee Professor of Law at Brooklyn Law School and a leading authority on scientific evidentiary issues, was the Science for Judges director. Under her guidance the program earned an unparalleled reputation for excellence and has generated a growing body of scholarship.

Science for Judges programs were presented under the auspices of the Center for Health, Science and Public Policy in collaboration with the Federal Judicial Center, the National Center for State Courts, and the Committee on Science, Law, and Technology of the National Academies of Science. They were funded by a grant from the Common Benefit Trust established in the Silicone Gel Breast Implant Products Liability Litigation.
