Employment Databases | Job Search | Job Fairs and Conferences Internships | Post-Graduate Fellowships
To find summer and academic year internships as well as post graduate jobs in public interest and government, job search databases are invaluable. Students may find the most effective help by exploring PSLawNet, which is dedicated to public service listings, and the Career Center’s CSM site. While public interest organizations are a small part of the On-Campus Interviewing program, students may also want to check that site, especially in the Spring when a larger number of public service organizations participate. Additional job hunting resources can be obtained at the Public Service Programs Office.
Students will also find samples and helpful hints for creating successful job search documents including resumes, cover letters, and other documents under Job Search Documents. Having competitive job search documents is critical to obtaining positions in organizations such as those listed under Internships. That section provides information about applying for positions, as well as student evaluations.
Job Fairs and Conferences provides timely information including dates, sites, registration and application information, and information about participating employers at these important events. Students are advised to check this link in order not to miss deadlines and critical information regarding participation in major job fairs and conferences focusing on public service law in general, or on specific public interest topics such as labor, environmental law, or dozens of others.
Second year and graduating students will also want to consider Post-Graduate Fellowships, and will find both general and specific information on post-graduate fellowships at the link provided.
