Camille Chin-Kee-Fatt, Esq., Director of the Career Center
Camille Chin-Kee-Fatt was most recently the Deputy Director of the Career Center and the Director of the Office of Student Affairs at Brooklyn Law School. Before re-joining the Law School administration in 2006, she served as Director of Legal Recruitment for the New York State Office of the Attorney General.

Ms. Chin-Kee-Fatt’s background also includes holding recruitment and development posts at the Union Settlement Association, a non-profit group in East Harlem; Linklaters & Alliance, an international law firm; and the New York City Law Department. Earlier in her career, she was a career counselor in Brooklyn Law School’s Career Center. She also served as executive director of the Practicing Attorney for Law Students (PALS) Program, the renowned mentoring program for law students of color attending law schools in the New York City area. She began her legal career as an associate at Shearman & Sterling LLP, after receiving her J.D. from Howard University School of Law.

Ms. Chin-Kee-Fatt serves as a member of the Second Judicial Departmental Judicial Screening Committee. The Committee nominates candidates to the Governor for judicial positions within the Second Judicial Department. Ms. Chin-Kee-Fatt has also been a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York's Committee on Recruitment and Retention of Lawyers.

Elizabeth Kane, Director of Public Service Office
Ms. Kane joined the Career Center in September, 2001 following thirteen years with the West Side SRO Law Project–Goddard Riverside, the last nine of which as its Director. In that capacity she managed an anti-displacement legal project of attorneys, tenant organizers and support staff, served as spokesperson in advocacy and public education campaigns regarding low-income housing policy, drafted tenant-protection legislation, and lobbied before state and local government. Ms. Kane received her J.D. in 1986 from CUNY Law School.

Jill Backer, Associate Director for Employer Relations
Jill Backer joined the Career Center in July, 2002 following five years in sales and marketing to the legal community. Ms. Backer received her J.D. from Quinnipiac University in 1995, and practiced criminal defense law in Chicago before deciding on a career in sales. Ms. Backer's position does not involve student or alumni counseling. Her work consists entirely of identifying new markets and opportunities, and meeting with employers.

Dina Adler, Associate Director of Career Services
Ms. Adler joined the Career Center in April, 2003 following six years with two New York City legal search firms where she recruited and placed lawyers in permanent and temporary positions, and advised candidates on career development issues. Ms. Adler received her J.D. from the Boston University School of Law in 1989, following which she was an Assistant District Attorney for four years in Kings County. Ms. Adler also practiced for three years as an Associate Attorney with the New York City Housing Authority.

Susan Bainnson, Associate Director of Career Services
Ms. Bainnson joined the Career Center in April, 2009 following a thirteen-year career as a litigator with two firms—one handling plaintiff-side employment litigation and the other handling complex litigation with a specialty in mass torts. Ms. Bainnson received her J.D. from Cornell law School in 1995 where she was Editor of the Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy and was a member and later Chancellor of the Moot Court Board. While a student at Cornell she was a member of the Career Placement and Planning Committee and the Women’s Law Coalition, which sponsored a student mentoring program. Ms. Bainnson has attended numerous professional development seminars and belongs to several career-related organizations.

Mary Walsh Fitzpatrick, Associate Director of Career Services
Ms. Fitzpatrick joined the Career Center in October, 2006 following a five-year career in litigation and commercial law with a small law firm in New York City. She is a 2000 graduate of Brooklyn Law School and, while in law school, held internships and law clerk positions in both the public and private sectors.

Steven Gordon, Associate Director of Career Services
Mr. Gordon joined the Career Center in February, 2003 following five years with Kelly Services where he recruited and placed permanent and temporary professional and administrative staff in law firms and corporations, and advised candidates on career and professional development issues. Mr. Gordon received his J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 1991, following which he became a Special Agent in the Defense Investigative Service of the U.S. Department of Defense, and later Assistant Chief Counsel/Chief Investigator in the Office of Campaign & Political Finance of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Megan Sheetz, Associate Director of Career Services
Ms. Sheetz joined the Career Center in October, 2002 following a corporate law career at O’Melveny & Myers in New York City. While at O’Melveny, she was a member of the firm’s Employment and Summer Associate Program Committees, and Lead Work Coordinator for summer and first year associates. Ms. Sheetz is a 1998 graduate of Brooklyn Law School, where she was Executive Articles Editor of the Brooklyn Law Review.

Tamara Stephen, Associate Director of Career Services
Ms. Stephen joined the Career Center in September 2008 following five and a half years with the Office of Career Services at the Hofstra University School of Law. Ms. Stephen received her J.D. in 1996 from Hofstra where she was an associate editor for the Hofstra Labor Law Journal. Following graduation she was a litigation associate for six years at Kaye Scholer LLP, where she served on the Diversity and Legal Personnel committees. Among her leadership roles, Ms. Stephen is a past chair of the Law Student Perspectives Committee of the New York City Bar.
