Larry Bortstein, founder of The Bortstein Legal Group, was awarded a 2013 Lexology Client Choice Award USA & Canada in the Information Technology category for the New York Region. Recipients of the 2013 award were selected from a pool of over 2,000 nominations submitted by corporate counsels from around the world. Bortstein’s firm focuses on supporting the business operations of its clients with an emphasis on negotiating contracts relating to technology, telecommunications, outsourcing, data/content, cloud services, corporate services and corporate real estate. Prior to founding his firm, Bortstein was the global head of technology law at Lehman Brothers. (3/8/2013)

Lisa Bova-Hiatt, deputy chief in charge of condemnation in the Tax & Bankruptcy Litigation Division of the New York City Law Department, co-managed a Hurricane Shelter in her home borough of Staten Island during Hurricane Sandy, where she oversaw over 900 evacuees. She also served on the recovery team for Staten Island created by Mayor Bloomberg, where she created a distribution site to pick up supplies and coordinated volunteers to help with clean up. Erick J. Ellsweig, a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch in its Greensboro, N.C. office, was nationally recognized among the top advisors in North Carolina by Barron’s in its annual “America’s Top 1,000 Advisors: State by State” list. Ellsweig has been with Merrill Lynch for the past 11 years. (4/30/2012)

Jeffrey B. Gewirtz, Executive Vice President, Business Affairs and Chief Legal Officer of the Barclays Center and Brooklyn Nets, was profiled in an article, “Hoop Dreams: Jeff Gewirtz Feels Like a Winner as the Top Lawyer for the Brooklyn Nets and Barclays Center,” in the September 2012 issue of Inside Counsel. Ross B. Intelisano recently merged his firm with Daniel E. Katz `81 and his legal team forming, Rich, Intelisano & Katz, LLP. The firm focuses on complex, highly sophisticated litigation and arbitration, and related advisory and transactional services, representing clients in securities, commercial, employment, construction and real estate disputes. Stacey A. Levine, formerly an Assistant U.S. Attorney in New Jersey, joined GE Healthcare (“GEHC”) as Associate General Counsel, Investigations. Levine runs GEHC’s major internal investigations and she drives policies and procedures for the handling of all investigations across the company. She also works with the Global Compliance and Labor and Employment teams to drive compliance and, where appropriate, direct remediation programs. (11/22/2011)

Carolyn Pokorny was promoted to Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office, EDNY. Pokorny joined the office in 1999 in its Narcotics Section and most recently served as Chief of the General Crimes Section. (1/30/2012)

Lorin Rosen joined Citadel EFT, Inc. as its primary securities attorney. Rosen previously worked at Prudential Securities Inc. as Assistant Corporate Secretary and she also maintained a general practice in Brattleboro, VT. Based in Oceanside, CA, Citadel provides credit card merchant account services to retailers, mail order companies, and online service providers. (12/13/2012)

George M. Silfen, previously a partner at Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP, joined Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP as a partner in the firm’s Financial Services Group. Silfen advises clients on regulatory and compliance matters associated with investment companies, and investment advisory, brokerage, securities custody and transfer agent services. In 2011 he was named Independent Counsel of the Year by Fund Directions. (11/15/2012)

Jonathan E. Silverblatt joined the New York office of Dorsey & Whitney LLP as a partner in the firm’s Corporate Group.
