Dennis M. Brown was appointed the Suffolk County Attorney. The County Attorney handles all civil legal business of the Suffolk County government and its agencies. Brown previously served as Bureau Chief of the Municipal Law Bureau in the Suffolk County Attorney’s Office. (3/6/2013)

Harris Diamond was named chairman and chief executive officer of McCann Worldgroup, the advertising flagship of The Interpublic Group of Companies. Diamond previously served as chief executive officer of Interpublic’s Constituency Management Group whose companies include, DeVries Public Relations, FutureBrand, GolinHarris, Jack Morton Worldwide, Rogers & Cowan and Weber Shandwick. He also served as chief executive officer of Weber Shandwick, one of the world’s leading global public relations firms. (12/13/2012)

Joseph C. Pastoressa was elected to the Suffolk County New York State Supreme Court in November 2011. He had been sitting as an Acting Supreme Court justice in Suffolk County since his appointment as a judge of the New York State Court of Claims in 2004. (4/30/2012)

Karen J. Tenenbaum, who practices tax law at her firm, Karen J. Tenenbaum, P.C., located in Melville, New York, was featured with her cartoon character, Walter the Vault, in an article on financial literacy for children in the Long Island Business News, “Clue Kids in to Family Finances” (October 17, 2012). Tenenbaum was one of 50 female small-business owners from across the country named a Top 10 Pitch winner by Count Me In/American Express OPEN, for her plans to promote financial literacy using her cartoon character, Walter the Vault. Through YouTube videos, she created financial poems set to music, which can be used by parents as tools to reinforce financial education. (11/13/2012)
