Stephen Turer, who maintains his own practice in Sonoma County, CA specializing in criminal defense law, was presented with a 2011 Career of Distinction Award by the Sonoma County Bar Association in October 2011. Turer served on the board of California Attorneys for Criminal Justice and is a founding member and former president of the Sonoma County Criminal Defense Bar Association. (1/30/2012)

Alan E. Weiner, founding tax partner and current partner emeritus of the accounting firm Holtz Rubenstein Reminick LLP, was appointed to a fifth term, for the 2013-2014 period, as a judge on the New York State Society of Public Accountants’ Excellence in Financial Journalism Awards Committee. The annual award recognizes reporters from the national and local press who contribute to a better understanding of business topics. (3/6/2013)

Robert S. Zuckerman, previously Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Horizon Lines, Inc., joined the Virginia Beach, VA office of Williams Mullen as Of Counsel. Zuckerman focuses his practice on the maritime industry, where he counsels clients in the areas of antitrust and transportation matters. (7/20/2012)
