Brooklyn Law School students have a number of exciting opportunities to study law internationally. Our agreements with Bucerius Law School (Hamburg, Germany), University of Essex (Colchester, England), University College Cork (Cork, Ireland), University of Hong Kong (Hong Kong) and Tel Aviv University (Tel Aviv, Israel) allow students to spend a semester studying international and comparative law subjects. Up to 16 credits of pre-approved coursework may count towards the J.D. degree as long as a grade of C or better (or the host institution’s equivalent) is earned in the course. These grades do not factor into a student’s cumulative GPA.
During the summer, students have the option of studying in Beijing, China or Bologna, Italy in connection with BLS sponsored summer study abroad programs, or may study with another American Bar Association approved summer program upon written approval. Students may transfer up to eight credits of pre-approved coursework back to Brooklyn Law School to count towards their J.D. degree as long as a grade of C or better is earned in the course. These grades do not factor into a student’s cumulative GPA.
