Clinic - Criminal Appeals Defense

Credits: 2.00
Faculty: Jan Hoth

Prerequisite: Appellate Advocacy

Participants in this clinic will be responsible for representing clients of the Center for Appellate Litigation. Closely supervised by an attorney in that office, students will review trial records, identify issues, and research and draft appellants' briefs. Students will have access to the office's specialized resources to help them with their legal research. Most of the clinic's work involves preparation of the main brief, which will be filed at the end of the semester. After respondents' briefs are filed, students will have the opportunity to argue the case in the Appellate Division.

Seminar Credits: 1.00

Seminar: The clinic includes two hours of seminar every other week.

Enrollment Notes: This clinic is only offered in the spring semester.
