Prerequisite: A basic course in real estate
This course will actively promote professional competency in the finesse of shaping and reshaping "Boilerplate" clauses to satisfy "risk allocation: expectations of clients. The focus will be two-fold (1) understanding the "jurisprudence" of "Boilerplate" clauses and (2) engaging in drafting and negotiation exercises with a view of learning to (a) make the "Boilerplate" line-up with the facts of an illustrative deal and (b) thereby achieve the expectations of the parties.
Grading and Method of EvaluationLetter grade with pass/fail option. Students graded on drafting exercises and in-class negotiations.
