Brooklyn Law Incubator & Policy Clinic (BLIP) functions like a law firm that represents Internet, new media, communications and other tech entrepreneurs and innovators on business and policy advocacy.  Professor Jonathan Askin.

The Brooklyn Law School Innocence Clinic will work in conjunction with the Exoneration Initiative (EXI), a pioneering non-for-profit located in lower Manhattan that litigates non-DNA innocence cases.  It provides students with the opportunity to offer legal assistance to wrongfully convicted persons in New York with a focus on the most challenging case. Capital Defender and Federal Habeas Clinic Students are involved in post-conviction representation of death row inmates in other states and of defendants in New York who have filed federal habeas corpus petitions. The work consists of filing petitions in the U.S. Supreme Court. Professor Ursula Bentele.

Children's Law Center Clinic provides interdisciplinary representation of children in custody, guardianship, visitation, domestic violence and related child protective cases in Brooklyn Family and Supreme Court. Students are teamed with lawyers and social workers. Professor Karen Simmons.

Community Development Clinic Students represent community development corporations, cultural institutions, affordable housing providers and small businesses that serve underrepresented communities. Professor David Reiss.

Consumer Counseling and Bankruptcy Clinic Students counsel clients who are considering bankruptcy proceedings to determine whether bankruptcy proceedings are most advisable. Professor Mary Jo Eyster.

Corporate and Real Estate Clinic Students represent the boards of low-income housing cooperatives or community groups in the purchase of real estate. Professor Debra Bechtel.

Criminal Appeals Defense Students review trial records, identify issues, and research and draft appellants' briefs supervised by attorneys. Professors Jan Hoth and Jonathan Kirshbaum.

Criminal Appeals, Manhattan District Attorney Students handle a respondent's appeal for the Manhattan District Attorney's Office supervised by a Senior Assistant District Attorney. Professor Deborah Morse.

Employment Law Clinic Students represent low-income workers who have recently lost their jobs and are having difficulty getting unemployment insurance benefits. Professor Minna Kotkin.

Federal Civil Litigation: NYC Law Department Students represent the City of New York and its employees in connection with federal civil rights lawsuits against the Police Department and the Department of Correction.  Professor Susan Halatyn.

Federal Civil Litigation: USAO EDNY Division Immigration Unit Under the supervision of Assistant U.S. Attorneys (AUSAs), students represent the government in connection with immigration litigation within the Eastern District of New York. Professor Scott Dunn.

The Mediation Clinic introduces students to the process of mediating disputes as an alternative to either litigation or continued conflict. Professor Bridget M. Regan.

Military Legal Practice Students will represent the government in an array of areas relating to military legal practice including labor and employment law, defense contracting, medical malpractice, legal assistance of military members, and family law. Professor Karen Hennigan.

Municipal Litigation: NYC Law Department Students work in the NYC Law Department’s General Litigation Division, which defends the City in lawsuits concerning education, health care, public assistance benefits, prison conditions, foster care and election law, among others. Prosecutors Clinic Students work as Student Assistant District Attorneys in the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office handling all stages of the prosecution of misdemeanor cases. Professor Lisa Smith.

Prosecutors Clinic: U.S. Attorney, EDNY Students represent the government in the investigation and prosecution of defendants charged with misdemeanors and petty offenses. Professors Carolyn Pokorny and Patricia Notopoulos.

Safe Harbor Clinic Students work in teams to represent individuals in cases affecting their status and entitlements in the U.S., including applications for asylum, and immigration status of lawful permanent residents or victims of domestic violence. Professors Dan Smulian and Stacy Caplow.

Youth Re-entry and Legal Services Clinic Students will work directly with court-involved youth and learn substantive law in the areas of criminal justice and reentry. They will assist in interviewing and advising clients with criminal records on their legal rights and obligations, obtaining and reviewing criminal histories, correcting errors, sealing appropriate records, and applying for certificates of relief from disabilities. Students will also assist in direct legal representation in both criminal and family court, employment discrimination and employment licensing denials, school suspension and public housing denial and eviction proceedings, and access to higher education.
