Many of our faculty also contribute to their fields as practicing lawyers with strong, long-standing ties to some of the most influential financial institutions, corporations, arts and entertainment circles, and media companies in the world.

Advising and support services help LL.M. students navigate the Brooklyn Law School community. Each LL.M. student will be assigned to a faculty advisor who will introduce the student to the Law School, field questions, and be a source of advice when needed. Each student will also be paired with a returning part-time LL.M. student or a third-year J.D. student interested in international law to help the LL.M. students assimilate into the student body.

An extraordinary array of programs and events is planned specifically for our LL.M. students. These opportunities include invitations to attend events hosted by the Dennis J. Block Center for the Study of International Business Law of particular relevance to the LL.M. students, a visit to the nearby United States Courthouse in Brooklyn, the opportunity to present scholarly work at an LL.M. workshop, and invitations to a variety of social events. As members of the Brooklyn Law School community, our LL.M. students will also have access to the dozens of symposia, lectures, forums, and panel discussions sponsored by our centers of excellence, fellowship programs, law journals, and student organizations. These programs draw distinguished speakers to the campus to engage in high-level dialogue with faculty and students. LL.M. students will also have the opportunity to act as Special Advisors to one of our four law journals or one of the Moot Court teams.

Our remarkable library, staffed with highly skilled researchers and librarians, houses approximately 580,000 volumes and countless law journals from the U.S. and abroad, as well as multiple databases and e-journals. Our helpful staff have extensive training in library science, and Brooklyn Law School’s policy of open-ended access for students and alumni makes the library a lifelong resource for ongoing learning and research.

The Law School offers an extensive and diverse range of student organizations to explore, including the Business Law Association (BLA), the Intellectual Property Law Association (IPLA), the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association (APALSA), the Eastern European Law Students Association (EELSA), and the International Law Society (ILS). There are also more than 40 additional organizations devoted to everything from chess to sports law, as well as a range of cultural, international, and religious groups.

LL.M. candidates have access to the Brooklyn Law School Career Center. The Career Center provides training and support, including advice on how to prepare U.S.-style resumes and cover letters, researching tips, and networking skills. LL.M. students will be assigned a personal Career Counselor and will have opportunities to attend all practice area programs and skills workshops.
