Your Application Procedures

A Tracking System to Keep You Organized

The fastest and easiest way to monitor the progress of your application is to use our password-protected Admission Documents Tracking System.

How the Admission Documents Tracking System Works
The Admission Documents Tracking System is designed to show you which application documents have been received and which documents are still needed. Once you have properly logged into the Tracking System (more information below), a screen will appear with five columns: Description, Status, Status Date, Due Date and Requesting Office. At this point in the application process (i.e., prior to any admission decision), you only need to be concerned with the first three columns: Description, Status and Status Date.

Description:  Displays all required documents necessary to complete an application. It mirrors our Application Checklist.

Status/Status Date: Displays whether documents have been received, are still needed, or are not required. If received, the system will record a date.

When all required documents have been received, the system will indicate this in the Status column. The system will not, however, report a decision on your application; such notifications are sent by the Office of Admissions in writing via e-mail and postal mail.

Note: The Admissions Committee will only review an application once it is complete. An application is considered complete when all required documents, including the candidate's LSAC Credential Assembly Service (LSDAS) Report, Dean's Certification Form, and two Faculty Evaluations (and, for candidates applying online, an Application Certification),  have been received and processed by the Law School's Office of Admissions.

Please keep in mind that, although the tracking system may indicate that all required documents have been received, the Admissions Committee may determine, upon later review of the file, that a clarification or additional information and/or documentation is required.

Using the Admission Documents Tracking System

  • Upon receipt of your application, the Office of Admissions will e-mail you a user name and password, enabling you to log in to your account. If you have not received a user name and password within two weeks of the date your application was mailed or transmitted, contact sissel.funaro@brooklaw.edu.
  • To access the Admission Documents Tracking System, you must first log in to WebAdvisor.
  • Once in WebAdvisor, click on "Applicants" and log in using your user name and password.
  • Once you have entered your user name and password, click on "My Documents" to access your account.
  • Important: Each time you want to check your application, you must repeat the above steps.
  • You cannot access the system until we have processed your application for admission to the Law School. Documents (such as Dean’s Certifications, or Letters of Evaluation) arriving prior to your application will be held for you but not coded as received until after your application itself has been processed.
  • Please allow five to ten business days (from the date of mailing and/or transmission) for items to be coded as received.
  • Because of the high volume of applications, phone calls, and e-mails we receive daily, we urge you to utilize this system as your first source for information regarding the status of your application. Be advised, furthermore, that the Admissions Office staff cannot predict with any level of accuracy when a decision is forthcoming; a careful, deliberate process takes time and we ask for your patience and understanding. In general, Category I candidates will hear from us by mid-to-late March; Category II applicants by mid-May; and Category III candidates as soon as possible thereafter.
